REALLOCATION

We understand that needs change throughout the year. If something unexpected comes up and you need to use your funds differently than originally planned, such as for a new event or an unexpected rise in costs, you can fill out the reallocation form to move funds from one event to another. You can find the form here.

About Reallocations

  1. Starting November 1, 2026, each organization is limited to 3 allocation requests  per quarter.

  2. Reallocations are prospective, not retroactive, so please submit the form at least 2 weeks before your event. It usually takes SAFC about 1 week to evaluate a request.

Approval Process

  • If your reallocation request is approved, a SAFC executive will reach out to inform you of the approval via email. You can begin spending the money that was reallocated.

    • Please note on your NUFinancial voucher that you are making up the shortfall using a reallocation!  Otherwise, your voucher may be denied.

  • If your reallocation request is pending, a SAFC executive will reach out to task you for clarifying information and make a decision based off of that information.

  • If your reallocation request is denied, you may not spend the additional funds on the expense.

How to fill out the reallocation form (more instructions on the form)

  1. Please tell us what organization you are requesting a reallocation for, your org’s Project ID, and your email so we can contact you.

  2. Explain what event you would like to reallocate funding to.

  3. Tell us why you would like to reallocate funding.

    1. Ex: Our organization, Purple Pride, would like to allocate leftover funding from our FDOC lunch to our Wildcat game day.

    2. You can reallocate funding to the following types of events

      1. Pre-existing event

      2. New event - please include all relevant details, including but not limited to: expected attendance, venue, itinerary, purpose, supplier(s), etc.

      3. Cost overrun - you were allocated X dollars for event B, but spent more than X dollars on that event.  You are now requesting to transfer funds from event A (which has leftover funding that wasn’t used) to event B.

  4. Tell us how much funding you would like to reallocate and a line-item breakdown of how that funding will be used.

  5. Include where you are getting funding from.

  6. If you would like, you’re welcome to include additional information for SAFC’s understanding.

  7. Submit the form!

    1. SAFC aims to have decisions on your reallocation request within a week of submission.
