Our vibrant student activities community is the product of many years of dedicated participation and commitment to a variety of organizations. A standing committee of the Associated Student Government, the Executive Committee plays a large role in advising, lobbying for, and recognizing many student organizations. Under the leadership of the Executive Vice President, twelve elected Group Executives serve as a resource and advocate to their assigned groups. The Executive Committee should be the first stop for anyone interested in starting a new group or growing their group on campus.
All ASG recognized student organizations started as a T, or “temporary” status group. After meeting a general set of criteria, these established groups are granted T-Status and scrutinized for up to one year. After that temporary period elapses, the group’s performance is judge and the group is either promoted to full B-Status or de-recognized all together.
Once a group is granted B-Status, their recognition is permanent assuming that the group continues its success. In addition to making the group permanent, B-Status recognition carries with it the ability to apply for a portion of the annual B-Status funding pool. ASG recognition isn’t for every student organization, but for many it can be the way to ensure your group is able to sustain itself for years to come.

Review this application used when applying for B and T-Status. Recognition hearings are scheduled by request and after an initial meeting with the Executive Vice President.
Comprised of six ASG Senators and six non-Senators, the Executive Committee’s twelve Group Executives serve as the direct liaisons between the Committee and individual B and T-Status student groups. These peer advisors are trained to assess group needs, administer group audits, council their groups during the annual funding cycle, and deliver answers on a day-to-day basis. This year marks the second year that the Student Activities Fee is available to B-Status groups. While our first funding cycle proved to be a success, there are still many procedural details to iron out. A funding application will be made available during fall quarter through your Group Executive. Executive Committee resources are meant to grow existing programming. Only B-Status groups are able to apply for Executive Committee funding, though co-sponsorships are certainly encouraged.
